Golden Grahams Treats

Have I mentioned I love treats?  I do.  I really, really do.

The other day I was making some awesome Rice Krispie treats and realized I had doubled the recipe.  Rather than make loads and loads of Rice Krispie treats, I made another family favorite – Golden Graham treats.

These treats are great for a summer potluck or a simple weekend treat to share with the family.

Golden Graham Treats Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1o Cups Golden Grahams Cereal
  • 2 Packages of Marshmallows
  • 1/2 Cup Butter
  • 1 Cup Milk Chocolate Chips

Golden Graham Treats Instructions

Measure and pour Golden Grahams into a large bowl.

Melt butter and marshmallows over low heat.  I gave instructions for this step in my Rice Krispie treats post.  The secret is to melt the marshmallows slowly.

Once the butter and marshmallows are melted, pour over Golden Grahams cereal.

Mix marshmallow mixture and cereal until evenly coated.

Add chocolate chips to the cereal mixture and mix until evenly mixed.

*Note:  If you add the chocolate chips to the mixture immediately, they will melt.  If you want the chocolate chips to retain their “chip” form, either put the chocolate chips in the freezer for an hour before making the marshmallow Golden Graham mixture or let the marshmallow Golden Graham mixture cool down for a few minutes before adding them.

Place the cereal mixture into a 9×13 pan and let cool.

Cut into bars and enjoy!
