Happy Unbirthday

Do you have a kid with a summer birthday?  This idea is for you!

In my last post I showed you the spotlight collage we put together for my daughters spotlight week.  For a lot of elementary aged kids, their spotlight week also coincides with their birthday week which means they get to bring in a special treat to share with the class for their birthday.

Summer Birthday Blues

My two oldest kids have summer birthdays.  Summer is a wonderful time for a birthday, but they miss out on the opportunity to celebrate their birthday with their school class by bringing in a treat on their birthday.

Happy Unbirthday Class Treat

No need to fear!  We decided to celebrate with a Happy Unbirthday treat.  Since my daughters spotlight week was definitely not her birthday week, we decided to bring in a treat to celebrate her unbirthday.  We made an unbirthday bag topper to dress-up the treat.

This class birthday treat idea is so simple.  Select your favorite candy (you can find a lot of unique candy at Candy Crate, package it in a simple Ziploc bag, and add a cute printable bag topper.

On the back of the bag topper I added her name and her actual birthday.

  2. This is such a cute idea. Growing up, my birthday was always in the summer…end of May but we never went past that date. it was great, but it’s also kind of fun to have a b-day during school. :)
