I love Oreo’s. They are the perfect cookie. They are great on sundaes. They are great on caramel apples. They are great on cupcakes.
The only thing better than an Oreo cookie is a chocolate covered Oreo. The only thing better than a chocolate covered Oreo is a chocolate covered Oreo with sprinkles. The only thing better than a chocolate covered Oreo with sprinkles is a chocolate covered Oreo with sprinkles on a stick. Got that all!?
Gourmet Chocolate Covered Oreo
A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to attend a blogging conference called SNAP. It was a great experience and if I get time I’ll do a recap post.
At the conference we got to try a new product called Velata. Velata is a new product from the makers of Scentsy. It is a chocolate fondue warmer and line of chocolate. After dinner we got to try the different flavors and dip various goodies for dessert. My favorite flavor of Velata was Caramel Milk Chocolate, but they were all delicious! The Velata dipped chocolate was a lot of fun and would be an awesome dessert at a party or wedding.
I have a feeling we will be having dipped chocolate at some upcoming parties this summer! Now I just need to get some more warmers so we can have multiple flavors!
Velata Chocolate Warmer
I was excited to use my new Velata warmer so I decided to make some chocolate dipped Oreo pops. My Velata warmer was perfect for keeping the chocolate at the right temperature. I loved that the bowl was large enough to dip the chocolate, but small enough that the chocolate didn’t go to waste.
Oreo Pop Supplies & Ingredients
- Velata chocolate warmer
- White chocolate
- Double Stuffed Oreos
- Sprinkles
- Sucker sticks
Chocolate Covered Oreo Pops Tutorial
Ever wonder how to make Oreo pops? They’re really quite easy. Here’s how…
Melt the chocolate and put in microwave then place in Velata warmer. Pour the sprinkles on a plate.
Remove one side of the Oreo cookie and place sucker stick in the filling. Put a small amount of melted chocolate in the cookie to help create a bond to the other cookie.
Place the other Oreo cookie back on top of the cookie filling.
Let the Oreo cookie pops sit for several minutes to allow the chocolate to setup and create a bond.
Dip the Oreo cookie pop into the melted chocolate. Cover both sides then tap off the excess chocolate.
Place one side of the Oreo pop in the sprinkles.
Place the sprinkled Oreo pop on wax paper and allow to setup for 20-30 minutes.
Homemade Oreo Pops
This was a fun and simple food project. Oreo pops are an easy, inexpensive, and cute wedding favor, birthday party favor, or neighbor treat.
I like to take pictures and I especially like to take pictures of cute, colorful things so enjoy a few mouse scrolls. 🙂

What a great idea of using the velata warmer! And I love how cheerful the oreos look with sprinkles!
Thanks Courtney. I love sprinkles and I agree, they made them cheerful. 🙂
So that’s how you get the stick to stick inside the Oreo. Duh! I have tried this and it was a failure because of the stick. The Velata chocolate warmer seems like it makes this a lot easier. Just pinned this! Vicky from http://www.messforless.net
Just when I thought an oreo cookies couldn’t get any better! YEAH!
These are super cute!! What a great way to use the Velata! Thanks for visiting my blog, it was so nice meeting you too!

So unbelievably cute! I appreciate how you showed how to put the stick in, I’ve always wondered about that. Those could not have turned out any better. I’d love for you to add it on my link party at: http://printabelle.com/?p=3188 Thanks!
Thank you Belle. Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!
So fun!
I like these – they are just as cute as cake pops but much less time consuming, great idea! 🙂 x
Thanks! I agree. Less time consuming and just as cute!
I am a Scentsy and Velata rep, I am soooooooooo in love with the idea you used for your warmer!!!! That’s incredible. I hope you don’t mind me borrowing your idea for parties, this idea is fabulous!!! Thanks girl!
Thanks! I loved how it turned out and love how easy it was to use the Velata warmer. Have a great day!
Hi,
Just wondering can I just used regular pots to warm my chocolate! I don’t have Velata Chocolate warmer.
Hi Gracielle –
Yes, absolutely. I wanted to try my new Velata warmer so I used it for this. Good luck. Thanks for stopping by.
XOXO,
Camille
If you are interested in a Velata warmer here is my website, http://www.NikkiBilka.Velata.Us I love my Velata ! I made something similar to this last night I crushed the bag of oreos and mix cream cheese with it then rolled them into balls and dipped them. They were a huge hit! I may try these next!
Oh my gosh! Thank you for this pin!! I am a Velata/ Scentsy consultant, and I can’t wait to use this idea. Velata has THE best Belgium chocolate! And paired with this cute idea will make a fun party treat!
Camille:
You can use another pot however the Velata warmer keeps the chocolate at the perfect temp. Using another may cause the chocolate to scortch.
Sue you can also use Deluxe Wilton Chocolate Melter. It works the same way. I think they are around $30 at a craft store. Be sure to use a coupon.
This is such a great idea. My kids will love it! We’re so glad you linked up to our “Strut Your Stuff Saturday.” Thanks for coming and we hope you’ll be back. -The Sisters
Such a cute idea to use the sprinkles! YUM! Thanks so much for sharing!
Stopping in from TT&J

Yum!!! Thanks for this!!!! I sell Velata and am adding this to my yummy ideas book!!!
Where did you all get those lollipop sticks? How does the
I picked them up at Michaels. You can also get them on Amazon.com.
Thanks for stopping by!
These look yummy. Just wondering if you can freeze these and they would still taste great once thawed?
I’m not sure how they would turn out if you froze them. I would imagine they would still be good, but I’ve never tried it. If you try it, let me know how it goes!
<3 Velata! Easy – Fun – Fondue
Hi!
I am making these for a baby shower this coming Saturday… how much chocolate do you recommend?? I will probably be doing 2 packages of DS oreos. Thank you!!
Hi Rebekah –
It depends on how thick you have the chocolate. I would say you could start with a pound and melt more if needed. One nice thing about the Velata warmers is that you can cover the warming bowl and re-warm the chocolate for later use. Good luck with the shower!
XOXO,
Camille
These are so FUN and pretty 🙂
Thanks Marla! I follow your blog and love your taste. I end up re-pinning a lot of the things you pin on Pinterest!
XOXO,
Camille
Love this! I am getting ready to order one of these warmers but I was wondering if you used their chocolate for these pops or any kind of white chocolate? Thanks !!
I ran out of the Velata chocolate, so I ended up using some almond bark.
Thank you for displaying the great use of our Velata warmers.
This idea is great!! I am a Scentsy/Velata Independent Consultant and you just showed me another way to enjoy Velata!!
This is a great idea to use the Velata warmer. I am a Scentsy/Velata Independent Consultant and am always looking for new ideas for the whole family to enjoy!! Thanks !!
As a Velata & Scentsy Independent Consultant I have to say this is awesome and genius!! I’ll most definitely be using this idea! I wonder how it would taste with the caramel milk chocolate…
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the new Velata Warmer. Great to take along to all summer activities. Were you invited to a pool party or family reunion? Volunteer to take dessert!! Take your warmer and fruit, pretzels, Oreo’s, Nutter Butter Cookies. While your at it show a catalog and earn free products to support your chocolate habit, LOL
Or better yet, sign up to be an Independent Consultant earn a paycheck.
Di you use the Velata chocolate for this or another chocolate?
I used Velata chocolate, but I’ve used other chocolate’s as well.
Caramel Milk Chocolate is my Fav too but these are awesome! I also did Peanut butter pretzel sandwiches dipped in dark chocolate, yummm
I loved reading the blog on the velata warmer and chocolate! The Belgian chocolate is so creamy and rich. If you don’t use all the chocolate you can put it in the fridge and reuse it at a later time. Of course I have never come across this issue! My hubby loves Oreos and this would be an awesome treat especially for birthdays! The velata warmers are so easy to use and you don’t have to worry about the chocolate burning. I leave mine on low and let the kids dip throughout the day. It’s wonderful at parties too. Turn it on and leave. No standing over it and having to stir it constantly. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Need a warmer or just interested in how one works or wanting the chocolate? Hit up my website to find out more.
Love this idea I will be trying this over the weekend with all of the little ones. Thanks for sharing
Im a independent scentsy and velata consultant! And this is such an awesome idea:) if you havent tried velata yet or havent purchased one yet you should def do so! Its absoultly amazing:)
I love this idea. My family is Gluten Free, so we used the Gluten Free oreos by Kinnicknick, it was amazing. The Velata Chocolate is also Gluten Free, which makes this the perfect desert and we avoid the Gluten allergies.
The step by step directions with photos were perfect! I wish all recipes were like that! I plan on serving Velata at a Scentsy party this Friday and am now inspired to make the Oreo Pops as a snack at the party with my Velata Warmer! Thanks for the ideas! The Velata Starter Kit is only $99 for anyone interested in selling Velata for some extra money this summer!
I’m a Scentsy/ Velatta consultant and these are sooo cute and colorful! Anyone who needs either Scentsy of Velatta can contact me at djhc1@aol.com!
Thanks for the FUN ideas! I can’t wait to make these for one of my Velata parties!
Thank you so much for your Oreo Pops using our new Velata Chocolate Fondue Warmer, and now how to package as well – you are fantastic!
I can’t wait to see what you’ll come up with when Velata launches the cheese for our fondue warmers, hopefully in the fall!
We appreciate you sharing how easy our fondue warmer is to use, it just reinforces what we as Velata Consultants are sharing with our customers and teams. Thank you, Lisa in Lakeville, MN.
I love this idea on using our Velata Warmers! I am going to show this to my host who is having a velata party this weekend. Love it! #trevasscents@gmail.com
Hi! I was wondering if anyone made them a day in advice… If so how did they turn out? I’m so excited about making them. Just trying to get things done before last min.
Thanks!!
Hi Heather –
Yes. In fact, these Oreo pops were made 2 days before I served them and they were great. I bet they would have been fine even longer.
Thanks!
Camille
I want to make these for my grandson’s birthday to take to school. Do they really stay on the stick OK? I don’t want a bunch of disappointed kids. Did you use double stuff or regular Oreo’s? I would like to put mini vanilla wafers on each before dipping to resemble ears on a teddy bear. (grandson is only 3) Do you think that would work?
Thanks for your help. These are such a cool idea.

Yes, they stay on the stick. I used some white chocolate in the middle and allowed that to set on the stick to help secure it. I’ve also placed them in the freezers to further secure the stick in the Oreo. I used double stuff Oreos. I’ve never tried vanilla wafers, but it sounds like a good idea. Just make sure there is something securing the stick in the middle first. Good luck!
I am soo excited im making this for my little boy to take to school for his birthday treat. Going to get stuff now…. hoping to get a flower pot and styro foam for in the bottom, stick them in there like cute little flowers.
Hi Camille, Do you only put sprinkles on one side?
Yes, just on one side.
