Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory Rice Krispie Treat Recipe

These Rice Krispie treats are sooooo good. I got the idea from the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory.  They have gigantic Rice Krispie treats with caramel, white chocolate, and milk chocolate drizzled generously across the top.

I’ve been wanting to make these Rice Krispie treats for several weeks and decided to make them for a family get together this last weekend.

The review of this recipe from my brother…
“These are the best Rice Krispie treats I’ve ever had.  No, seriously.”

How do you make rice krispie treats?

Rice Krispie treats are really easy to make.  They are a go-to weekend treat in my family.  I’ve been making them for years but just recenty learned the secret to making the best Rice Krispie treats.  The secret to making Rice Krispie treats is to melt the marshmallows and butter very slow.

Rice Krispie Bar Recipe

Rice Krispie Treat Ingredients

  • 1o Cups Rice Krispie Cereal
  • 2 Packages of Marshmallows
  • 1/2 Cup Butter
  • Milk Chocolate Chips
  • White Chocolate Chips
  • Caramel Chips

Rice Krispie Treat Tutorial

Melt butter in a large pan.  Did you notice there are 2 cubes of butter?  I messed up and put a whole cup of butter in instead of 1/2 cup which meant I had to double the recipe.  I ended up making Golden Graham S’mores as well, which I’ll share in another post.

Add marshmallows to the melted butter.

Coat marshmallows with the butter.

Cook butter and marshmallows over low heat and allow marshmallows to melt.

Stir the marshmallow and butter mixture frequently.  The secret to the best homemade Rice Krispie treats is to allow the marshmallows to melt very slowly.

Once the marshmellows have melted, take the pan off the heat and add Rice Krispies to the marshmallows. Stir until well coated.

Pat the Rice Krispies into a large cookie sheet covered by parchment paper.  Melt the chocolate chips and caramel.

Drizzle caramel across the top of the Rice Krispie bars.

Drizzle milk chocolate across the top of the Rice Krispie bars.

Drizzle white chocolate across the Rice Krispie bars.

After you have your caramel, milk chocolate, and white chocolate drizzled across the top you will have a beautiful mess.

Cut the Rice Krispie treats into bars.
